What can I ask before choosing a sleep consultant?

You have found a sleep consultant whose website sounds reassuring. Now you are wondering whether to get in touch. Perhaps you would like to know what the support includes, whether it could work around family life, or simply what the person behind the website is like.

Those are reasonable things to want to understand before paying for support. You do not need to arrive with a decision already made, or with a perfectly organised account of every night. An enquiry can begin with the question that matters most to you.

At Your Sleep Family, you would be working with me, Sophie. I am an infant sleep consultant and a mum of two, and I offer personalised online support for families across the UK. My website sets out the packages, and a complimentary discovery call gives you a way to talk about whether my service may be a suitable fit.

One useful question is: what am I actually booking? Both Light and Full Sleep Support include a one-hour consultation, a review of your online sleep log and a personalised programme. They have different follow-up arrangements, so it helps to look at the whole package when considering what you would like from the service.

You can ask how follow-up works, including which forms of contact are included and how that contact is arranged. The options are explained on the services page. If anything leaves you unsure, we can talk it through before you decide whether the service is right for your family.

Family arrangements are another part of the conversation. You might be sharing care with a partner, managing different working hours, or wondering how another adult could be involved. These are things you can raise when enquiring. If you would like someone else to join a conversation, ask about the arrangements before booking so that everyone knows what to expect.

It is also fair to ask what is included in the fee, what any additional contact would involve and what happens if you need to change an appointment. Clear information helps you make a decision that feels considered. You should not have to guess from a few lines on social media.

The discovery call and the paid consultation have different purposes. The first is an opportunity to discuss the service and your enquiry; the consultation forms part of a support package. You can use that first conversation to clarify the distinction and decide whether you would like to take things further.

If you are at the stage of looking rather than booking, that is a perfectly understandable place to start. Visit the services page to read the options, or use the discovery-call link on my website. You can bring the questions you already have.
